Description

With this spell up, a caster may “burn” a Emanations of the Eye charge to resist the effects of any single packet-delivered magical effect. Such a resist is called as “Ward” when activated. The caster can end this spell for a “free” instance of such a resist, or to increase their Artifice level by 1 for five minutes as an enchantment effect. If the caster has no levels in Occult, this effect will grant Artifice 1 for the duration, but note that in no case does this effect increase the caster’s base Occult level. As with all enchantments, this effect will not stack with itself.

 
Empowered: As long as this ward is active, the caster adds 2 to their Artifice/grants Artifice 2.  The caster may burn this ward instead to cast any other Emanations spell.

Description

 

When this spell is cast, the caster gains a number of activations equal to their Mastery. By touching a non-critical individual, concentrating for 3 seconds, and then saying the activation verbal, this spell can be used to heal a target of a limb wound. Alternately, this spell can be used on a character to reduce the power of any Blindness or Paralysis affecting them by 1, per use (the critical restriction does not apply for this second casting).
 
Empowered: This spell is cast at +2 Mastery and the caster may ignore its Requirements.  If the caster concentrates for 1 minute prior to casting, it does not cost a charge.

Description

 

Upon casting this spell, the caster gains a number of activations equal to their Mastery. This readied effect may be activated to cause a Rebuke as a mental effect to any target it successfully strikes. Alternately, a use may be expended to generate a physical light (glowstick) in green, white or blue . Like all light effects, the glowstick is entirely physical, and it may be handed off or used at the holder’s discretion. Each individual light lasts as long as the lightstick does, it is turned off (for non-chemical glowsticks), or one event has passed, whichever comes first.
While Rebuked, a victim may not call Feats of any kind—from any source—until they get 10 minutes of standard rest or the condition is removed.
 
Empowered: This spell is cast at +2 Mastery.  If the caster concentrates for 1 minute prior to casting it, it does not require a charge.

 

Reified Epistemic Lens

Requirements

 

The caster must lay the phys-rep after one minute of concentration. When the spell ends, the phys-rep must be taken up immediately. Where visibility is an issue, the circle must be marked at regular intervals with white glowsticks. These lights are considered part of the circle phys rep and may not be used separately from it.

 

Casting Verbal

 

“The Lens of Epistemic profusion, though as born to entropy as any reified protocol, arrays a perfected mimesis upon the forms and signs off all it delineates.”

 

Description

 

Any Investigation called within the boundaries of this circle upon an abstract subject matter (or the specific results of a divination) receives a bonus Feat of Perception and Feat of Learning for each participant in that investigation. In addition, Concealment, Greater Concealment, and Invisibility will not function within the circle: any being under such effects is immediately revealed (Reveal!).
Like all circles, this spell can measure up to five yards in circumference per level of the caster’s Mastery. Reified Epistemic Lens appears as a thin boundary of piercing silver light.

 

Empowered: This spell is cast at +2 Mastery and if the caster participates in any investigations, their bonus feats are instead converted to Greater Feats of Perception and Learning.

 

 

 

Transfinite Paradox Reduction

Description

 

After intoning this spell’s verbal, the caster falls into a meditative trance during which they will receive multiple visions of the unfolding future in the form of a powerful, waking dream. As with all divination spells, this casting requires a staff member’s presence. Once present, that staff member will guide the caster through their visions, and the player must make abstract decisions during the process in an effort to avoid mental contradiction and causal paradox. If they are successful in this, they will gain true knowledge of what will be. Note that meddling with paradox can have dangerous, unpredictable effects in the material world. The overall power of this vision is governed by the Mastery of the caster, and a higher Mastery will yield a more detailed and expansive dreamscape, but also a higher number of paradoxes/contradictions to resolve and thus the potential for negative aftereffects. As such, remember the player may cast a spell at a lower Mastery, if they so choose. Transfinite Paradox Reduction may only be cast once per event.
As with all divinations, this casting requires a staff member, and as a result it may take some time before it can be resolved, much like an Encounter tag.

Description

 

This spell is cast in order “ask” an item questions about itself as part of a formal Investigation action called upon it. Most items will be able to answer simple questions, but magical artifacts and items of historical significance will often have greater “wisdom” to impart. The item must be addressed as if it were a thinking being, and it will answer in kind, with the caster’s Mastery directly determining the number of total questions, divided as evenly as possible among the participants. All standard Investigation questions are treated as if they were part of this spell, as a secondary effect. After each question, the item may ask a question of its own, and if that particular participant fails to answer to the item’s satisfaction, they lose all of their remaining questions. Note that although the item must pose questions as a challenge, the things it asks are likely to be as revelatory as the questions it answers.
As with all investigations and divinations, this casting requires a staff member, and as a result it may take some time before it can be resolved, much like an Encounter tag.

Volition-Suspending Demiurge

Description

 

This spell calls into being a distorted “reflection” of the caster’s inner self: an illusion that knows the caster more intimately than they know themselves. The Demiurge is mostly a trick of light and sound, and though it can be seen and heard by others, it will completely ignore all but the caster, and it cannot by physically hurt or bound in any fashion. As it is generated by a machination of the Eye, the illusion is not a true copy of the caster’s nature: rather it is an amalgam of the boundless perceptions of the Eye itself and the unconscious mind of the magician. Generally, the apparition will attempt to impart the wisdom of self-knowledge to the caster, and may be consulted about particular courses of action as the caster sees fit. Often, the demiurge is confrontational, evasive, and generally unsettling, always preferring to speak with the caster in private, drawing them away from crowds. As soon as the Demiurge manifests, the caster gets a number of free “Etiquette” activations equal to their Mastery as a direct effect of this spell, immediately usable upon it, and only it, as per theDiplomacy ability. Any mundane uses of etiquette are usable in this fashion by the caster, if they have access to them.
The staff member playing the Demiurge may end the encounter at any time during the discussion, disappearing in a white flash. At the effect’s end, the caster loses all bonus Etiquette activations. As with all divinations, this casting requires a staff member, and as a result it may take some time before it can be resolved, much like an Encounter tag. Volition-Suspending Demiurge may only be cast once per event.

The revelation of Symbolic-Heuristic Occultation functions as a protocol of amendment, a (Mastery)-fold transposition of the impossible into an assault of visionary ecstasy.” (after at least 1 minute of concentration)

 

Description

 

This spell, which must be cast in the presence of a staff member, will seize the caster in a frenzy of mental images, compelling them to set down their vision on paper as they appear to them. The staff member will direct the vision based on the images the caster is able to set down, and these images will alter the theme and appearance of subsequent transitional images, each of which must be drawn in order for the casting to continue. Though the pen (no pencils) and paper the caster uses need not be tagged items, they should be of good quality, with drawing pens and clean, blank paper much preferred. The caster’sMastery sets the upward limit on how many distinct and significant images can be generated by the spell. Generally, these images hide meaningful secrets about the state of the world at present: secrets the caster may have no prior knowledge of. While this spell is being resolved, however, the staff member will not answer questions about the meanings of the images, at all. Any and all of the drawings may be used as the target of an investigation (counting as the result of a divination). Most likely the images drawn form the spell should take the form of apocalyptic, polymorphic violence, abstract symbols of an unknown tongue, and fevered calculations within a bizarre mathematical system.
As with all divinations, this casting requires a staff member, and as a result it may take some time before it can be resolved, much like an Encounter tag. Symbolic-Heuristic Occultation may only be cast once per event. As a secondary aftereffect of this spell, the caster may study their drawings intently for five minutes, at the end of which time they may activate any Emanations ritual that they know, intoning it in a clear voice. This latter ability may be used at will throughout the remainder of the event, and of course only on the most recent results of the primary casting of this spell.

Divergent Essence Absolution

Description

 

This spell allows the caster to throw a packet effect that does their Mastery in magic damage to anyone it hits. As an additional effect, any spirit which is successfully damaged by this spell may not dematerialize for 5 minutes. In a similar fashion, any Accursed creature successfully damaged by this spell is afflicted with an irresistible Fear effect (explicitly ignoring general accursed immunities) centered on the caster, also for 5 minutes. If the target of this spell is not a Spirit being or Accursed creature they simply take the damage and no other effect.
While afraid, a victim must move and stay least 15′ from the source of the fear (the caster). As well, they may make no attacks (melee, missile, or packet-based) against the caster while under this effect, unless the caster physically prevents them from fleeing. Defenses are completely unaffected, however, and the victim may attack others as normal.
 
Empowered: This spell is cast at +2 Mastery.  If the caster flubs the verbal or the packet is mundanely dodged/misses, the charge used to cast it is immediately restored as if it had not been spent.

 

 

Mytho-Expressive Obviation

Description

 

During this spell’s duration (1 hour per Mastery), the caster may burn an Emanations of the Eye charge to reduce the damage of any single damaging effect to 1. This is called as “Reduce!” Note that Threshold is checked before damage reduction, meaning that Reduced damage may never be negated by Threshold.
 
Empowered: While under the effects of this spell, the caster’s Vitality maximum is increased by 2 as a non-stackable effect.  

 

 

Fulsome Vector Insinuation

Description

 

This spell renders the caster immune to Bind, Shackle, and Slow effects for one hour per Mastery. In addition, this enchantment grants +1 damage to any thrown or missile-based Power Strike or PS derived abilities called by its caster during its duration.
 
Empowered: This spell is cast at +2 Mastery and the caster need not abide by its Requirements.  The PS damage is increased by 1.

 

 

God-Machine Proxima

Description

 

When cast, this spell, which lasts until sunset, grants a +1 bonus to Mastery. In addition, this spell grants a number of free basic Feats of Will to the caster equal to their (modified) Mastery. These bonus feats are lost if the spell ends before they are used. While under the effects of this spell, if the caster “flubs” a casting verbal, activation verbal, or invoke effect, the spell ends and the caster must revoke all active charges they bear, regardless of source.
 
Empowered:  The Mastery bonus increases to 2.  The caster may ignore this spell’s Requirements and its flub effect entirely.

Play a game with another character that does not involve chance, such as Chess, Go, or Mankala. You may play multiple games if one of them ends before the ritual’s duration is up. If your opponent leaves before the requisite time, however, the ritual fails.

Exhaustively detail the process of creating a tool, weapon, or piece of armor to another character. If the listener leaves during the ritual, it fails.
